Over 300 vehicles showed for the 2009 Buckeye Nationals at Kil-Kare featuring the inaugural Pro Mod Shootout. Twenty seven Pro Mods made qualifying rounds for sixteen positions. Top Qualifier went to Alex Hossler with a 4.011 at 183.67 MPH. In the Pro Mods quarterfinals it would be Alex Hossler of Canton, Il.  vs. John Vengor of Erie, Pa. Vengor would be better on the tree with a  .457, but it would be Hossler moving to the semis with a 4.016 pass at 187.53. Next would be Jason Hamstra of Demotte, In. against Jim Paukner of Blanchester, Oh. Hamstra would get the better reaction time with a  .501, and would take the win with a 4.032 pass. Next would be Billy Glidden of Whiteland, In. against Chip Formen of Albright, Wv. Glidden would get a .483 reaction, but Formen would get the stripe with a 4.312 for the win. Las tpair for the round would be Patrick Hunley of Somerset, Ky. facing Bobby Miller of Frankfort, Ky. Hunley would cut a .548 and take the stripe for the win with a 4.205 pass.
            In the Semifinals it would be Hamstra against Hunley. Hamstra would cut a .509 light and would take the win with a 4.198. Next would be Hossler and Formen. Formen would get the better light with a .451 but it would be Hossler with the win on a 4.066 pass.

            In the finals it would be Hossler and Hamstra. Hamstra would cut a .440 and would get the Pro Mod Class $10,000 win with a  4.103.

            In the Super Pro quarter finals it would be Dean Howard dialing a 6.03 against Rob Stacy dialing a 5.38, both from New Carlisle. Stacy would go red moving Howard to the semis. Next would be Jeremy Craig of Dublin dialing a 5.73 to the 6.05 of Mark Griffith from New Carlisle. Griffith would cut a .504 for the better light, but would grab too much stripe breaking out,. Craig would advance with a 5.756 pass. Next would be James Butts of Xenia dialing a 5.01 to the 5.03 of Ken Sullivan from West Carrolton. Sullivan would cut a .512 light for the advantage, and would follow it up with a 5.044 pass for the round win. Greg Fulk of Oak Hill had the bye run.

            In the semis it would be Howard dialing a 6.02 to the 6.10 of Fulk. Howard would cut a .503 light and would take the win with a 6.042 pass. Next would be Craig dialing a 5.74 to the 5.03 of Sullivan. Craig would cut a .501 light, but it would be Sullivan at the finish line, with a 5.033 pass for the round win.
            In the finals it would be Howard dialing a 6.02 to the 5.03 of Sullivan. Sullivan would cut a .512 light and would take the win with a 6.037 pass.

            In the pro class quarterfinals it would be Dwight Fox of Springfield dialing a 6.20 to the 6.22 of Mick Pence from Bainbridge. Pence would get the better light with a .528 and would take the round win with a 6.231 pass. Next would be Ron Culbertson of Springfield dialing a 6.82 to the 7.24 of Boomer Ellison of Beavercreek. Culbertson would cut a .525 light but it would be Ellison with a 7.245 pass for the win. Next would be Rusty Thompson of Columbus dialing a 8.76 to the 6.47 of Brad Day. Day would go red and that moved Thompson to the next round. The Last pair for the round would be Ray Salyers of Xenia dialing a 6.61 to the 6.57 of Ronnie King from Urbana. King would cut a .560 light for the advantage, and would get the win light with a 6.570 pass.

            In the semis it would be Thompson dialing an 8.74 to the 6.55 of King. Thompson would go red moving King to the finals. Next would be Pence dialing a 6.22 to the 7.24 of Ellison. Ellison would get the better light with a .520 but would get too much finish line, and would breakout moving Pence to the finals.

            In the finals it would be King dialing a 6.60 to the 6.22 of Pence. King would go red making Pence the winner.

            In the sportsman quarterfinals it would be Steve Collier of Xenia dialing a 12.45 to the 12.12 of McFall. Collier would cut a .527 light but it would be McFall with the win on a 12.137 pass. Next would be David Rickey of New Carlisle dialing a 12.83 to the 13.05 of Ronnie Evans of Xenia. Evans would get the better light with a .569 and would get the double breakout win with a  13.038 pass. Next would be Jake Browder of Fairborn dialing a 12.04 to the 16.92 of Tim Frawley from Xenia. Browder would cut a .595 light and would take the win light with a 12.139.

            In the semis it would be Evans dialing a 12.99 to the 12.12 of McFall. Evans would cut a .557 light for the advantage but it would be McFall with the win light on  a 12.135 pass. Browder had the bye to the finals.

            In the finals it would be Browder and McFall both dialing a 12.11 for a heads up Sportsman final. McFall would cut the better light with a .570, however it would be Browder with a 12.095 for the win.

            In the Pro bike quarterfinals it would be Bob Nugent of Trotwood dialing a 9.50 to the 9.21 of Nathan Thatcher from Dayton. Thatcher would get the better light with a .535 but it would be Nugent with a 9.533 pass for the win. Next would be Steve Withem of Fairborn dialing a 10.82 to the 9.21 of Shannon Milnickle from West Milton. Withem would cut a .537 and would take the win with an 11.109 pass. The last pair for the round would consist of Larry Hunter from Xenia dialing a 9.36 to the 8.80 of Bradley Shellhaas from Springfield. Hunter would have the better light with a  .530 but ti would be Shellhaas with an 8.931 pass for the win.

            In the semis it would be Nugent dialing a 9.50 to the 8.83 of Shellhaas. Nugent would cut a .518 light and ride to a 8.506 breakout victory over Shellhaas. Steve Withem had the bye run to the finals.

            In the finals it would be Nugent dialing a 9.50 to the 10.81 of Withem. Withem would have the better light with a  .527, but would breakout making Nugent the Pro Bike Winner on a 9.511 ride.
