Kil-Kare Features Go To Stacy, Dunlevy, South, Hoelscher, and Bradon
Xenia, OH. (8/14) - The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series events at Kil-Kare Speedway Friday night saw repeat winners appear in the winners circle. Late model driver Mike Stacy qualified seventh fastest which put him in the middle of the fully inverted field for the start of the thirty lap feature. But by the time the checker flew it was he picking up his third win of the year in the Oakley Blacktop sponsored machine with Bobby Justus reeling in second place for the third time this year. Sixteen year old Sloan Henderson brought her machine home third for the fourth time with fifth going to one time feature winner Sam Heckman with fast timer Don Mahaffey and winner of the previous weeks Robbie Dean Memorial home fifth. In the Muffler Brothers of Xenia modifieds Dick Dunlevy may not have been the top qualifier as that went to his nephew Tyler Nuckles who recorded the fastest lap so far this year for a modified with a time of 14.093. But come feature time it was a different story as the many time track champ showed his tail to nephew Nuckles as Dunlevy and his Duncan Oil Turbo Blue finished just ahead of Nuckles recording their fourth win of the year. Behind second place Nuckles was Mike Carroll, Derek Barnette, and Ralph Harrod. For the first time this season Ron Lewis posted fast time of 15.407 in time trials but when the checker waved in the feature he was credited with fifth. Taking the checker to claim his second win of the year was Mike South Sr. Travis Digges was across the line in second position with third going to double duty driver Jeff Marsh who also competes in the late models. Fourth was five time winner Shawn Stansell with Lewis fifth. Compact driver Bryan Lynch may be fast in qualifying as for the eighth time he did just that with a clocking of 14.996 but come feature time he was not quick enough to catch Bo Hoelscher. Hoelscher and his CAR-X sponsored machine racked up their third win of the year. Aaron Harshbarger took second place money followed by Lynch, Dave Sagers, and Joe Hoelscher. The FAST Legends racing series made their fourth stop of the year at Kil-Kare which saw Travis Bradon set a new track record of 15.021 in time trials erasing his own record of 15.177 set on May 8 this year. And just to show his fast time was no fluke he brought his #01 machine home first in the feature. Second was Toby Alfrey, a previous winner and third was also another previous winner Bryan Nuckles. Joey Greening was fourth and fifth was Chris Weddle. Coming up this Friday, August 21, Kil-Kare will present the second big School Bus Figure-8 and School Bus Demolition Derby plus a program of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late models, modifieds, sport stocks, and compacts with the gates opening at 6 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m. For more information visit www.kilkare.com or contact the track office at 937 429-2961.
